On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, an earthquake 7.0 in magnitude shook the country of Haiti to its core. The earthquake occurred in the southwestern region of the country near Port au Prince creating impassable roads, crumbled buildings, and causing extreme loss of life. The situation is compounded by the lack of food, clean water and medical supplies. In Ouanaminthe, Haiti, about 40 miles from the heart of the disaster, is our on-ground partner, Danita's Children Orphanage. We are happy to report that the orphanage did not sustain any major damage and everyone has been accounted for. During this tragic time, however, Danita's Children is preparing for an influx of newly orphaned children and they need our help.
